Camping, Lake Erie, Ontario, Long Point Prov. Pk.
Long Point is midway across Lake Erie. If you look at a map you will see it jutting out into the Lake on the north side. There are two camping areas at Long Point, both are right by the Lake, so you just walk to the water. The beach is wide and sandy. You drive out a causeway to get to the camping areas and there is much boating on the Bay area. Most of the shopping is at Port Rowan on the Bay before you drive out to Long Point. There are some really neat stores in this little Town that you will enjoy. The Bird Studies Canada building is also in Port Rowan. Once out on The Point you can visit a Bird Banding Station which is quite interesting. North of Port Rowan about a mile is another camping area called Backus Mill. This is an interesting place with historic buildings and activities. There is Mill, fishing pond, swimming pool, Learning Center, restaurant, etc. You will find Long Point/Port Rowan a very interesting place to visit. See pictures at the last link below.
