Camping, Lake Erie, Ontario, Port Burwell Prov. Pk.
Port Burwell is a campsite where you have large, treed lots which gives you privacy. Many people like this aspect. The early season brings many birds to the forested area. In Fall the Hawk's Migration can be viewed on special days. The camping area is at the top of a hill and the Beach is below. It runs for miles and is all sand and quite wide. A really great beach. Be sure to walk out on the boardwalk where you will feel like you are right on the water. Outside the Park is The Harbor and over the bridge Port Burwell shopping and restaurants. Here you will enjoy the local Perch and Pickerel dinners. If you have a boat you may be able to catch your own. There is another public beach on this side called East Beach which has shallow, calm water because it is sheltered by the Pier. Downtown there is a Museum with nautical items and the country's largest wooden lighthouse. You can climb to the top of it as it is no longer in use. The view is fabulous. Port Burwell is a nice, relaxing place to visit. Check links and pictures below.
