Camping, Lake Erie, Ontario, Selkirk Prov. Pk. I have done a lot of camping in the past in southwestern Ontario, Canada. With Summer upon us you may like some tips on places to go camping. On Lake Erie there are a strip of Provincial campgrounds from Port Dover (Selkirk) to Port Burwell and then more further west. There are also many local Conservation Areas that have camping. The most easterly Prov. Park for camping is Selkirk . It is just east of Port Dover. I have never camped here but have visited. It is nice and level and has a large grassed area beside the Lake. Would be great for a large picnic. You can walk to the beach from the campground. There is a boating area nearby. The only thing I found that even though there is a beach it is small but usable. There is good birdwatching here as well. With Port Dover nearby there is plenty of activity there and good shopping, Theater and restaurants. I think you would have a good time there.
