Cat Care Tips
Fleas...After many years of fighting a battle at bath time I found that the regular bathtub was the best place. When kitty tries to get out his feet slip on the sides and he can't escape too easily. I always have a big towel ready to wrap kitty up and no escape or scratches when finished either. Grooming Cats...Hold by the nape of the neck like the Mother Cat would. When brushing, give a little dab of fur ball medicine when finished so the cat knows it is getting a treat. It is surprising how good he'll be. Neutering or Spaying... a cat is usually done as a pet is approaching puberty, about five or six months old. It can prevent tumors in cats, and usually makes for a more contented, stay-at-home cat. I never had a cat that missed Motherhood. This may also prevent spraying in the male cats, and those nasty fights they may get into. If your cat tends to think that you are a Kitty Treat, when he takes his next bite, just say "No!" (don't hit him) and walk away from him. Totally ignore him! Sounds easy, but it really works for most cats. Here is a good way to train your cat not to do something (getting on tables, etc.). Keep a spray bottle of water handy. When you see your cat doing something that he shouldn't be doing...squirt water at him in the face. They really hate that and it doesn't hurt them at all! You can also put sticky tape so their feet go on it and they will not like to go to that place. It has been proven that pets have a real healing power for children and the elderly.
Cats and Kittens are very loving and affectionate and make a great pet.
It has been scientifically proven that stroking a cat can lower one's blood pressure.
