Cat Traits
A cat's hearing capability is five times greater than that of a human. However, at about 5 years of age, this capa- bility lessens somewhat. A cat can rotate its ears 180 degrees and can locate the source of a sound ten times faster than the most capable watchdog.
A cat has 32 muscles in each ear. Cats can see an ant at a distance of six meters(!). While looking straight ahead they can also see sideways in an angle of 45 degrees, but only 2-dimensional. In pitch-dark-ness their eyes become more like a kind of ears: the pupils pick up acoustic vibrations A cat can not see directly under its nose. This is why it sometimes can not quickly find treats thrown on the floor. They don't find food by smell as much as Dogs, and if they can't see a treat they can't find it. Cats have over one hundred vocal sounds. Dogs only have about 10. Kneading you is a sign of affection. Biting when being petted or brushed means your cat doesn't want to be petted or brushed anymore. Your cat is a nocturnal creature and loves to roam around at night. A group of grown cats is called a "clowder," while a group of kittens is a A "Kindle".
