Heel Spurs

When I was a child we always skipped rope and often it was what was called Double Dutch with two ropes. I never see kids doing this anymore. I started having a sore heel and when Mom sent me to the Doctor she said it was a fallen arch. She put a pad under my arch and it went away after a short time. I always try to wear a shoe that has a good arch support built in to it now that I am older.

Later in life the top of my one foot would get quite sore and hurt when I touched it.

This Spring I really wanted to get doing some walking and more exercise and that is when the same foot started hurting on the bottom.

I had heard in the past that Chiropractors could help Heel Spurs so I took several treatments there and with the exercises he gave me it did help.

When checking with my regular Doctor she said that there were signs of Arthritis in the foot. Well, if people have to have their knees done it makes sense that the same can happen to a foot. I have not reached this point and it is livable so far.

The worst part is when rising in the morning I can hardly step on that foot until I get it moving. I try to stretch it while still in bed by pulling the toes upward.

A few weeks ago I was on a trip and had on soft cotton shoes that had a good arch support and it didn't seem sore, so now I am looking for a new pair like that with no success yet.

Meanwhile it is hard to loose weight when a person can't walk a lot and this, of course, would be a great help for the foot.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned you see a foot specialist or podiatrist.
Exercises and physical therapy are important, but so are orthotics and steroid injections.
I certainly wouldn't expect somebody with back problems in my office.
