Salt Mine at Goderich Ontario Canada
With all the snowstorms this year many cities, even in Ontario where we always get lots of snow, are short of salt for the roads. Now with another biggie on the way more salt is needed. At Goderich, on the shore of Lake Huron, there are huge salt mines under the lake. You can see a picture at the url I have added. They are working around the clock to supply 20,000 tons or 50 truckloads a day to the surrounding area cities and counties. Many places are now over their budgets for the year already for snow removal. Most stores are sold out of shovels and snowblowers. Well, we will see what Saturday brings. Meanwhile we are snug in our warm house and lucky to be there.
