Smart Swallows
My neighbor returned from the south a few days ago. He has a cute bird house that is shaped like a large log house. It has about six holes in it for entry of the birds. There are always Swallows flying in and out of it all Summer. When he goes south he takes it down and stores it away. Today he was putting it back out and Swallows were already trying to get into it before he had it up. I went to see an adjoining neighbor and while we talked one came and sat right by us for a long time. It was so cute. It had a white stomach and turquoise on its head. They will be dive bombing my cat when I take her out. She has never been allowed to run around and would not even know how to catch a bird, but they don't know this. I must soon get out my Hummingbird Feeder as they are smart too and will remember where the feeders were last year. They come a bit later. The neighbors with the flower gardens were out today and cursing the Bunnies. Another lady was saying how cute they are.
