Stratford Swan Parade
Stratford, Ontario, Canada is world famous for its Shakespearean Festival. I grew up here and all the streets and schools have names from England or Shakespearean plays. Stratford is on the Avon River and a dam makes Lake Victoria. This lake is in the core of the city and in the Summer tourists and locals alike walk or cycle around it or go to the theatres located there. One thing they love are the ducks and swans that are numerous on the lake. Swans have to have a warm place to stay in the Winter months so they are put in a sheltered housing area. Every Spring (March 29 this year) they are paraded to the lake. Crowds gather as a pipe band leads them down the hill to their Summer home. They enjoy it and so do the many children that come to see them. I have quite a few pictures of them in Summer but not of the parade. Look and enjoy.
