The Great Lakes, Michigan
Lake Michigan is the only Great Lake that is entirely in The United States. It goes in a north to south direction between Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. Size is 22,400 sq. ft. and is the largest freshwater lake in The U.S.A. It is connected to Lake Superior and Lake Huron by The Straits of Mackinac at the north. The northern area of land is quite popular with tourists and there are many sand beaches, sand dune areas, lighthouses, National and State Parks. The southern areas are quite heavily populated and industrialized. Examples are Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois. I have never been able to travel to these places but hope to some day.
