Vounteers One of the greatest pleasures you can get out of life is to volunteer your time to help others. If you have ever been on the executive of a club or group you have already done this. I have done it many times in the past. Churches usually have men's or women's groups that raise money by putting on yard sales, penny sales, luncheons, suppers, etc. It is so nice to have a few thousand dollars and have to decide who you are going to help. Our group has sent money to help put a roof on a poor church, rebuilding in Africa, food vouchers and wood to local residents who have met on sickness or hard times, built an addition on the church hall, put in air conditioning, and more. Locally, we have a Thrift Shop that is all run by volunteers and donations from the public. The money goes to needy persons around the world. When my children were in school I went and filled in at the school Library. It was fun and I learned how Libraries work too. At present I am helping with a Seniors Group. One of our speakers asked for help at Big Brothers and Sisters to mentor students and I am looking into that. It is great to be helping others while you help yourself to learn.
